As we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., The Trenton Center for Healing Unity and Belonging (The HUB) is proud to announce our Inaugural Peace Week, a week-long series of events inspired by Dr. King’s unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and community healing.
Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community serves as a guiding light for The HUB’s mission. We are dedicated to creating spaces where individuals and groups can engage in meaningful dialogue, repair harm, and build stronger, more connected communities. Peace Week, kicked off on January 17, 2025 with our Creative Change Counseling (CCC) team participating in the City of Trenton Day of Service and will be followed by a week of intentional activities; this is our opportunity to turn those ideals into action.
What to Expect During Peace Week
Peace Week is designed to bring together youth, families, and community members for restorative practices, creative workshops, and shared celebrations. Highlights include:
Restorative Circles: Open spaces for dialogue and healing.
Youth Leadership Activities: Empowering the next generation of changemakers.
Community Engagement Events: Opportunities to connect, share, and collaborate for a brighter future.
Why Peace Week Matters
Dr. King once said, “True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.” Peace Week is more than just a series of events, it’s a call to action. It’s an invitation to come together, reflect on the work that remains, and take intentional steps toward creating a more restorative Trenton.
Get Involved
We invite you to join us for Peace Week and to take part in these transformative activities. Together, we can honor Dr. King’s legacy and continue his work of building a just and equitable society.
